The continents of Asia and Africa are witnessing economic transformation like never before, powered by tremendous amount of development in technology and infrastructure. This, along with rapid growth in urbanization has created a plethora of opportunities. However, on-the-ground knowledge is key to capturing this business potential. It is in this regards that the Confederation of India Industry (CII) and Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) have jointly undertaken the e-platform initiative to facilitate Indian and Japanese industries, government bodies and other organizations to explore the Asian and African Market.

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) works to create and sustain an environment conducive to the development of India, partnering industry, Government, and civil society, through advisory and consultative processes.
CII is a non-government, not-for-profit, industry-led and industry-managed organization, playing a proactive role in India's development process. Founded in 1895, India's premier business association has around 9000 members, from the private as well as public sectors, including SMEs and MNCs, and an indirect membership of over 300,000 enterprises from around 276 national and regional sectoral industry bodies. JETRO, or the Japan External Trade Organization, is a government-related organization that works to promote mutual trade and investment between Japan and the rest of the world. Originally established in 1958 to promote Japanese exports abroad, JETRO's core focus in the 21st century has shifted toward promoting foreign direct investment into Japan and helping small to medium size Japanese firms maximize their global export potential.
